A place about AI, if you missed the blog post:

The world of AI has changed over the decade. AI tools have been a part of digital painting tools for many years. These have been seen in custom brush, custom filters and styles and other blending and stamp tools.

Now AI Art Generation tools are filling the web in social media apps like Youtube, Twitter, Tiktok, instagram and more.

Many don’t consider “AI Artist” as artist. But one must look at how “artist” is defined:

The Oxford English Dictionary defines the older broad meanings of the term “artist”:
A learned person or Master of Arts.

    1. One who pursues a practical science, traditionally medicine, astrology, alchemy, chemistry.
    2. A follower of a pursuit in which skill comes by study or practice.
    3. A follower of a manual art, such as a mechanic.
    4. One who makes their craft a fine art.
    5. One who cultivates one of the fine arts – traditionally the arts presided over by the muses.

Much of what is said about AI artists today, is what was said years ago about digital artists and before that Clip Art and the use of clip art.

There are many pros and cons with AI tools in both image, video, text and speech in the ART world.

As fellow artist, we are sure you can tell which is AI generated, but sometimes it is hard. We hope that artist that use “AI Generated” tools will tag as such.  With respect to copyright and other legal stuff, well, that is for the individual to decide. We see many “artist” create “FAN ART”, which skims the legal boundary of fair use and derivative works.(This is a whole other subject, and member are welcome to open a topic on such debates.).

For now, we have created an area in our forum for AI. We know many may not like it, that is fine, just don’t select that area and try not to talk bad in that forum just because you don’t like it or feel it is not right, many understand this already.  We hope that the forum is a place to share and colab, more than argue about such things, life is too short.

    Enjoy the AI Multiverse…
