This is great advice. Also when you respond to a request for hire, it is very important that you also follow all directions, guidelines or requirements and not just submit a blanket response.

This is very true, but you should also keep good records of your name and published works, as you own the rights to your work even if they are not registered. But, if you ever have to prove it, you can submit your records.

I think this would be a good forum topic to have Trademark and Copyright. I submitted a feature request.
